The Bali Spa and Wellness Association (BSWA)

The Bali Spa and Wellness Association (BSWA) sprouted from an idea in 2002 when spa industry experts gathered to discuss ways to enhance and elevate the spa scene in Bali. At that time, the industry was still in its infancy. These passionate pioneers met regularly, with attendance ranging from 10 to 20 individuals.

By 2005, their dedication paid off as BSWA was officially and legally established, complete with a formal organizational structure and a membership that grew from approximately 20 to 100 members.

The BSWA was founded by five visionary leaders and is overseen by a rotating board of committee members who bring fresh perspectives each month. Legally operating under the umbrella of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association (Persatuan Hotel dan Restoran Indonesia – PHRI), the association benefits from the broader vision of developing Bali’s tourism industry.

Today, BSWA stands as Indonesia’s leading spa association, holding routine meetings and proudly representing the country in the internationally renowned Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition
